2025 Grand Canyon SME Golf Invitational

The Grand Canyon Section of SME in Bagdad, AZ strives to promote philanthropy, community, and networking within the mining and mineral processing industry. Our section accomplishes this goal largely through hosting dinner meetings featuring guest speakers presenting various topics related to mining.  In addition, the section also organizes a golf tournament and auction to raise money for our scholarship fund. In 2019, the section disbursed a total of $55,750 among 25 outstanding young individuals currently studying for careers in the Mining and Mineral Processing industry at 7 universities across the country and the local Bagdad High School. In 2022, we disbursed $34,000 to 14 individuals at 5 universities across the country and the local Bagdad High School. Another $30,000 was disbursed after the success of the 2023 golf tournament, the first event following postponement for 3 years due to the pandemic.

Now, after a year hiatus, we are hosting our 15th Scholarship Golf Tournament and Auction on Saturday, September 27, 2025, and we are seeking your support. There are opportunities to sponsor tournament players, various aspects of the golf tournament (as outlined in the attached flier), provide auction donations, and even sponsor specific scholarships named after your company.
